This classic pizza is an absolute staple, but don’t feel you need to stick to this tried and tested gem. Use this recipe as a foundation to add all the veggies, sauces (and veggie sausages!) your heart desires.

You will need

Serves 2

  • 1 portion of dough, or a premade vegan pizza base (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1/4 cup tomato-based pizza sauce
  • 4 cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 40g plant-based mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil

To garnish

  • 1 stem basil, leaves picked

  1. Step 1

    Preheat your oven, and a pizza stone if you have one, to 250°C (or the hottest temperature it will reach)

  2. Step 2

    Use a ladle to spread tomato paste evenly over your pizza base.

  3. Step 3

    Top with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and a drizzle over the extra virgin olive oil.

  4. Step 4

    Place the pizza onto a hot pizza stone and cook for 10 minutes (or shorter time if oven is over 250°C).

  5. Step 5

    Garnish with basil leaves, slice up, and serve!
