Full of warm, savoury goodness, this easy gravy will be your new go-to for holidays, Sunday dinners, and everything in between. Simple to make and super versatile, you’ll want to pour it over everything.
In a large pot, cook the flour and butter (or oil) over medium heat and mix until it forms a paste. If the mixture becomes lumpy, add a dash of the stock and mix until smooth. Add the mushrooms, onion powder, bay leaves and thyme and cook for 5 minutes or until fragrant.
Step 2
Add the stock, soy sauce and pepper and cook for 10-15 minutes until the mixture has thickened. Remove the bay leaves.
Step 3
If you prefer a thicker gravy like pictured, puree the gravy and mushrooms. If you prefer a thinner gravy, strain away the mushrooms.
Step 4
Serve the gravy immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
