We’ve rounded up all of our absolute favourite, tried-and-true recipes — including some plant-based versions of traditional Christmas recipes, as well as some deliciously creative twists on the classics.

Set the table for sweetness and cheer with these festive vegan desserts:

1. Dutch Spiced Gingerbread Log

A tray of sliced chocolate pastry with a plant-based filling, topped with hazelnuts, on baking paper beside a bowl of hazelnuts—ideal for vegan treats.

This delightfully spiced gingerbread log is inspired by a classic Dutch treat called gevulde speculaas. A delicious mouthful in more ways than one!

2. Vegan Gingerbread Cookies

A plate of decorated vegan gingerbread people, surrounded by festive decorations and a serviette—ideal for Christmas treats.

These festive gingerbread cookies are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Plus, they’re perfect for decorating with the kids!

3. Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies

A plate of choc chip biscuits, a jar with more biscuits, a cuppa, a bottle of plant-based milk, and festive decor on a grey surface.

We didn’t think it was possible to improve on a classic shortbread… until we tried choc chip shortbread and our eyes were opened. It’s a match made in heaven!

4. Sticky Toffee Pudding

Plant-based sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce and vegan vanilla ice cream on a white plate for your Aussie Vegan Christmas, blurred orange background.

Another take on a beloved English classic — this one adds an extra festive layer of richness by soaking the dates in coffee as opposed to water. Game-changer!

5. Sticky Date Pudding

Two plates of sticky date pudding topped with plant-based ice cream and caramel sauce in front, plus a loaf and jug behind—perfect for vegan Aussie Christmas puddings.

A classic for a reason! This delectable sticky date pudding is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, so toasty warm that it melts your scoop of dairy-free ice cream within minutes.

6. Dark Chocolate Tart with Spiced Figs

A plant-based chocolate tart with shortcrust pastry, topped with cherries and dried rose petals, served on a white plate.

This dark chocolate tart is so rich and decadent, no one would ever suspect it’s dairy-free! If you’re not a fan of figs, you can swap them out for raspberries instead.

7. Vegan Biscoff Cheesecake

A vegan cheesecake topped with caramel, plant-based whipped cream, crushed biscuits, and two Lotus Biscoff—one slice served—ideal for Aussie Christmas puddings.

As if cheesecake needed to get any better — try pairing it with a biscoff-infused filling, biscoff spread on top, and of course crumbled cookies to decorate!

8. Chocolate Fudge Cake with Rich Ganache

A round chocolate cake with glossy plant-based icing, one slice out, on a wire rack near a serviette and a plate with a fork—ideal for vegan dessert ideas.

Treat yourself to some festive decadence with this rich chocolate fudge cake — thickly frosted with the most delectable chocolate ganache.

9. Native Summer Custard Tart

A fruit tart with sliced peaches, strawberries, blueberries, and edible flowers on a white plate next to a blue checked tea towel—great for festive plant-based puddings.

This refreshing native classic features a biscuit base, dairy-free custard, and fruit toppings as bright and sunny as a springtime meadow.

10. Lemon & Apple Olive Oil Cake

A slice of plant-based yellow cake with white icing drizzled on top and pooling on a decorative plate—ideal for Aussie Christmas treats.

If you’re looking for a light, fluffy fruit teacake, you can’t go past this delightful recipe — lemon and apple pair so beautifully together.

11. Raw Blueberry Macadamia Cheesecake

A round plant-based berry cheesecake with a slice out, topped with fresh blueberries and raspberries on a white serving board—ideal for vegan Aussie Christmas puddings.

From the nutty coconut base to the creamy layers of blended macadamia and berry filling, every inch of this blueberry cheesecake is divine — a perfect summer-Christmas treat.

12. Lamington Loaf

Sliced lamingtons with jam filling and coconut on a cooling rack and plate, by two mugs of tea and a blue teapot—an Aussie vegan treat for Christmas.

Easy to make and super nostalgic. It should be illegal to celebrate any occasion in Australia without at least one lamington-themed dessert!

13. Rum Balls

An open tin filled with mixed plant-based treats, chocolate truffles topped with cocoa, hundreds and thousands, or crushed nuts—brilliant for a vegan Christmas treat.

Blissfully bite-sized and a little bit boozy, these plant-based rum balls are a festive staple. Rolled in coconut, nuts, or sprinkles, they’re rich, nostalgic, and dangerously moreish.

14. Coconut Cherry Truffles

Assorted cherry truffles, some with plant-based chocolate coating, arranged on plates with fresh cherries and melted chocolate on a blue surface—ideal for those after vegan Christmas dessert ideas.

The ideal balance of fresh, fruity, and indulgent, these chocolate-dipped cherry truffles are just what the festive season ordered.

15. Christmas Peppermint Slice

A chocolate slice topped with crushed peppermint sweets, cut into squares on baking paper—ideal for festive plant-based treats.

Just a warning — this Christmas peppermint slice recipe is utterly addictive. We highly recommend making a double batch, or it’ll disappear as quickly as a snowflake in the sun!

16. Spiced Chocolate Christmas Truffles

A close-up of chocolate truffles on a dark plate, dusted with cocoa or coconut—an elegant plant-based treat for Christmas in Australia.

A more traditional, deep-flavoured truffle recipe — it doesn’t get more chocolatey than this! The warming spices add a slight hint of gingerbread flavour.

17. Mini Pavlova Cups

Three vegan mini pavlovas topped with raspberries, passionfruit, and mint on a light blue plate, with a gold spoon and yellow serviette.

You can make these cute little egg-free pavlova cups with a magical ingredient called aquafaba. It’s the liquid hiding in your cans of beans, and it whips up just like egg white!

18. Berry Custard Trifle

A festive trifle with plant-based sponge, vegan custard, fruit preserves, dairy-free cream, and topped with summer berries and peach—ideal for Aussie Christmas dessert.

Layers for days! Sponge cake, custard, berry compote, cream — the whole shebang, only completely vegan. This traditional trifle is nostalgic, indulgent, and sure to steal the spotlight on your Christmas dessert table.

19. Mango Passion Fruit Eton Mess

A glass with coconut flakes, mango chunks, and passion fruit on a pink serviette and white plate; mango bowl and spoon alongside—ideal for festive Aussie vegan Christmas puddings.

Another nifty recipe that uses aquafaba — but this time we’re crumbling those meringues up and sprinkling them between layers of yoghurt, mango, and passionfruit.

20. Kombucha Berry Trifle

A glass parfait with layers of mixed berries, plant-based yoghurt, and yellow fruit purée sits on an outdoor table—great for vegan Chrissy desserts.

If you’re looking for a more individualised dessert, these pretty trifle cups are ridiculously quick to make. Just 5 minutes of prep, 15 mins to let the flavours infuse, and you’re ready to assemble your lovely, layered dessert.

21. Spicy Chilli Maple Nuts

Roasted mixed nuts with spices on baking parchment, beside a small bowl of ground spice and striped orange tea towel—a festive vegan Christmas treat—on a white surface.

If you like your sweets with a bit of a kick, these nuts are a spectacular blend of the two. Plus, many of the spices are the same you’d find in gingerbread, which really adds that festive flair!
